Having trouble printing?
This article will offer you solutions for common printing Issues.
1. Is your printer recognized by the computer?
The printer icon is grayed out when it is not recognized by the computer. This issue usually occurs when the printer is off, when it's connected to a bad port, connected with a bad cable, or when it's offline.
Solutions:
1. Make sure your printer is connected and on.
2. If the printer is connected to the USB hub, connect it to a different port in the hub, or directly to the computer.
3. If the printer is still grayed out, it may be offline.
"Printer Offline" Solution
Most of you know this issue, everything is working fine when all of a sudden the printer is not printing and you get the notice "Printer Offline".
In this case, either your printer is off or something went wrong with Windows Print Spooler service. In order to solve this issue, you need to restart the Print Spooler Service from "windows services".
2. Is the printer you are using set as Default Printer?
Open Control Panel > View Devices and printers
If your printer icon does not have a green checkmark, it is not set as the default printer.
In the MirrorMe Booth software, the photo printer will usually be set to "Selected Default Printer". You can either:
1. Set your printer as default: Right-click the printer icon and set as default printer:
2. Select your printer in the Mirror Me Booth software (Features tab > Print copies > Select your printer):
3. Does your printer appear under the list of printers or the "Unspecified" list?
If the printer is not recognized and is shown as an "Unspecified Device", it means that it's not yet installed on your computer.
Solution: Install the printer's driver:
1. Download the printer's driver from the brand's website (for example: DNP, HiTi, Mitsubishi).
2. Connect the printer.
3. Run the installation app (if it was downloaded as a zip folder - Right click and Extract the folder).
*If the printer is still not recognized by the computer, you can add it manually:
a. In Devices and Printers > Add a printer:
b. Press "The printer that I want isn't listed":
c. Select "Add a local printer":
d. Select the printer port USB Virtual printer port for USB
e. Choose your driver:
*If you can't find your printer manufacturer in the drivers' list, download the driver online (from here: DNP, HiTi, Mitsubishi). or insert the driver disk and click on "Have Disk". Then, choose the .inf file:
f. Finish the installation, the device you installed will appear as a printer. Right-click on the printer's icon to set as default printer.
4. My Printer is not Recognized at All:
This issue is usually caused due to a connection issue to the printer or the power.
Solutions:
1. Change the USB port.
2. If you are using a USB hub, try to connect the printer directly to the computer.
3. Change cables.
4. Try to connect the power cord to a different power outlet.
5. Try running Windows Updates and restarting the computer.
Note: Windows updates may take a while, make sure you have enough time. not recommend during an event.
5. My printer is recognized, installed and is set as default, but still not printing
1. Reset print spooler (See "Printer is offline" solution)
2. Make sure there is no paper jam, and try to change the paper roll and ribbon.
3. run Windows updates and restart the computer
