This article will show you how to use the Live View feature with your Foto Master Photo Booth software.
This feature allows you to add a live-view stream to the Workflow. You can add this feature at any stage in your workflow while allowing the animations to run on top of the live view (it will appear at the top of the live view, like an overlay).
Note: In this video, our Live View Shutter Speed setting is Bulb, which would be used in low light situations, as it is the recommended setting to use when using your camera inside the photobooth. If needed, you can change this setting.
First, it’s important to mention that Canon cameras use different ISO and white balance settings for camera mode and video mode. In order to adjust these settings to record a video, it is necessary to override the settings for camera mode and set the ISO and white balance settings for the video and camera mode separately. In order to do so, go to the Globals tab > Canon section and enable "Override Camera Settings:
The recommended values are:
- Photo Capture Settings: AE Mode: Manual Exposure; Aperture: 7.1; ISO: 400; White Balance: Tungsten; Shutter Speed: 1/125; Image Quality: Small2.jpeg (S2); Metering Mode: Center-Weighted Average; Exposure Compensation: 0
- Live View Settings: AE Mode: Manual Exposure; Aperture: 7.1; ISO: 6400 or higher; White Balance: Manual (should be set through the camera with Manual white balance in video mode or via EOS utility software); Shutter Speed: Bulb
On the same tab, define your camera orientation to present an accurate rotation of your Live View:
A. Adding The Live View Feature in the Workflow
1. Add a “Live View Start” feature state at the desired location in the workflow to start the Live View Feature. You can add it right before the Burst Video/Burst Gif feature or at any other location in the workflow, according to your preference. If you have animations states after the “Live View Start” feature state, they will appear on top of the Live View.
2. Add a “Live View Stop” feature state when you want the Live View Feature to stop.
B. Live View Feature Settings:
Camera Type: Select the desired camera type (DSLR/Webcam/Kinect) from the drop-down menu.
Width x Height: Set the size of the live view.
Fill Mode: Select between Scaling, clipping, and repeating the image.
Scale Mode: Select between Stretching and zooming the image.
Mirror Live View Image: Check this box to view a Mirror Image of the Live View stream.
Enable Green Screen: Check this box to apply the Green Screen filter upon the live view presentation.
Wait on Live View Feed: Check this box if you want to wait for the live view to stop before the workflow will continue to the next state, or wait with the current state until the live view is ready.
Hide Live View On Stop Live View: Check this box to hide the Live View presentation instead of stopping it
That's it! Super easy, super fun, and super awesome!
